Job Description:
This position procures rates for ground freight, ocean freight
and air freight, dedicated and general logistics solutions to issue
formal quotes for internal/external customers. Generates profitable
business for ZIM Logistics USA within the assigned territory.
Identify areas of growth and potential opportunities, constantly
work to increase sales for Air, Ground and Ocean Freight and all
other added value services, warehousing, customs brokerage, cargo
insurance, and moreA self-motivated individual, who supports
day-to-day Procurement, Pricing, Sales and Marketing
activities.Main Tasks:--- Compile lists of prospective customers
for use as sales leads based on information from ZIM and other
websites, external databases, and inquiries, trade shows, aged
leads, business directories, etc.--- Identify and reach out to
existing customers and prospects when new services / promotions are
relevant--- Make outbound lead follow-up calls to potential and
existing customers by telephone and e-mail (to qualify leads for
Account Owners).--- Answers phone calls and emails from customers
and vendors.--- Reply to customers within 24 hours to all inquiries
received.--- Inform manager about accepted quotations and transmit
to relevant departments for handling in accordance with SOP's.---
Cooperate with Operations department for the kick-off of contracted
services.--- Assists Manager in delegated functions.--- Research
problems and perform root cause analysis to propose permanent
solutions.--- Takes an active role in his/her own development by
integrating coaching/feedback on performance into daily
routines.--- Day to day procuring rates for ground, ocean, air,
warehousing, and logistics solutions services.--- Provide net costs
to Sales team and Management for margin determination.--- Ensure
rate filling to FMC.--- Monitor amendments and updates of all
contracts with service providers.--- Understand the pricing models
and principles used to arrive at collective pricing decisions and
business propositions.--- Request from internal and external
customers, all information needed for accurate procurement.---
Benchmarking of pricing of local and foreign charges and come with
recommendation for customer retention.--- Coordinate new
vendors/customers onboarding and vetting processes.--- Organize and
store relevant documents and communications for review.--- Assist
the Commercial Manager in all pricing, sales, logistics and
operations related activities as per request.--- Special projects
in sales, audit, customer service and pricing area.--- RFQ / RFI /
Bidding and Tender opportunities.--- Develop relationships with
relevant contacts from the customer side.--- Takes active role
ensure customers retention (following global guidelines).--- Assist
in solving and follow-up on customer issues and complaints with
Account Owner.--- Provide customers with administrative information
on their account (credit terms, etc.).--- Forward and follow-up
telephone and email inquiries to other departments within ZLU.---
Inform customers on changes in different topics such as rates,
schedules, new shipping methods, etc.--- Schedule meetings with
existing and potential customers and occasionally join them as
needed/requested by Manager.--- Cargo readiness follow-up: perform
daily and/or weekly follow-up on future and current bookings under
respective AO portfolio to ensure customers are performing as per
their forecast and if not, that our systems are updated
accordingly.Requirements--- High school diploma or general
education degree (GED).--- College Degree in Marketing, Sales,
Logistics, International Commerce, or related field (preferred).---
5-year experience in a Freight Forwarding Company in Sales,
Marketing, Pricing & Procurement roles (mandatory).--- Experience
with Asia market (preferred).--- MS Office Proficiency, Outlook and
Excel highly rated.--- FMC, TSA, CBP regulations and processes
knowledge (required).--- TMS Software knowledge (preferred).--- STA
or similar / relevant TSA clearance (preferred).--- IATA training
certifications (preferred).--- Strong Customer Service and Sales
Skills.--- Regulations Knowledge for IMPORT and EXPORT in both AIR
and OCEAN and Ground (highly preferred).--- Ability to travel up to
40% of time domestically and locally, if needed.
