Under the direction of the Administrative Director, the
Assistant Director is responsible for the management of the
departments daily operations and coordination of patient care, as
well as acting as a liaison between internal and external customers
of the organization. Participates in continuous quality improvement
and ensures that the department staff meets with regulatory agency
standards, and complies with unit established standards of care,
hospital, and corporate policy and procedures. Coordinates and
delivers advanced professional and technical care to adult and
geriatric patients. Assists and provides input to the
Administrative Director regarding employment interviews, staff
performance issues or needs. The Assistant Director develops
collaborative working relationships with hospital leadership,
physicians, and staff, both internal and external to the
department. The Assistant Director is also responsible for
assisting with budget preparation, management of supplies and
equipment in the department as well as promoting teamwork with
physicians and all health care providers. The Assistant Director
will also have responsibility for promoting internal and external
customer satisfaction as well as appropriate resource management.
The Assistant Director ensures compliance with Tenet initiatives,
regulatory agencies, TJC and the Nurse Practice Act while
maintaining shared responsibility with the Administrative Director
for the operations of the department 24/7.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION:
Minimum:Bachelors Degree, Masters Degree in Nursing or related
EXPERIENCE: Clinical and administrative practice.
Twoyears experience in health care management and a minimum of 5
years experiencein clinical related specialty. Must have a working
knowledge of QualityImprovement Process and TJC standards.
Registered Nurse - licensed in theState of Florida.
Current BLS and ACLS Certification
