Qualifications: 1)Must have a master’s degree from an accredited
university or college with a major in the field of counseling,
social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, special
education, health education, or a related human services field with
one of the following: Two years of professional experience in
providing services to persons with behavioral health disorders;
Current supervision under an LPHA. 2) Master’s level practitioners
with degrees other then, social work, psychology, marriage and
family therapy, or mental health counseling must have completed
graduate level coursework in at least four of the following
thirteen content areas: human growth and development; diagnosis and
treatment of psychopathology; human sexuality; counseling theories
and techniques; group theories and practice; dynamics of marriage
and family systems; individual evaluation and assessment; career
and lifestyle assessment; research and program evaluation;
personality theories; social and cultural foundations; counseling
in community settings; and substance use disorders. 3) Must possess
a License in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, related field
or be registered Supervised by: Clinical Operations Director
Supervises: Behavioral Health Counselors and Peer Counselors
Responsibilities: 1)Design, outline and implement the Psychosocial
program, while defining the Behavioral Health Counselors role,
responsibilities, tasks, schedule, procedures, processes,
operational structure, framework and team. a) Conducts ongoing
assessments and analysis of the service provided to the client to
make sure that they will provide the necessary strength and skill
needed to reach the goals set by the person served as well as the
agency. b) Makes sure documentation and individual treatment plans
are developed and reviewed quarterly and with the participation of
the client. Reviews and approves all the documentation completed by
Behavioral Health and Peer Counselors, including WRAP. c)
Coordinates the day to day services with the Senior Case Manager
and Residential Coordinator. d) Participates on different
committees that will be responsible of evaluating the quality and
improvement of services provided in the psychosocial program. e)
Implements procedures required by funding sources, accreditation,
and licensing departments e.g. CARF, SFBHN, AHCA, Medicaid,
DC&F, etc This includes completion of quarterly prior
authorization requests for services to the organization’s funding
source. f) Prepares and reviews the outline curriculums to verify
the program is able to offer the therapeutic, educational, and
leisure activities necessary to meet each client’s needs according
to the treatment plan. This includes completion of external and
internal reports. g) Prepares and updates orientation programs
concerning rehabilitation accompanying a section in the
Psychosocial Handbook, which includes: Description of the program
hours of operation; Individuals that will coordinate services;
Expectation and responsibility; Rules and services, and;
Sensitivity to adversity 2) Provide leadership, guidance, training,
performance management, evaluation, corrective action and
supervision for the Behavioral Health Counselor and Peer Counselor
team. This includes supervision of day treatment activities and
evaluation of each counselor conducting a group session twice per
year. 3) Manage the department to ensure clients are linked to
community-based support that is in alignment with a Recovery
Oriented System of Care (ROSC) 4) Designated as the point of
contact, champion, coordinator or liaison in the following areas:
Trauma Informed Care and Cultural and Linguistic Competency. 5)
Writes and submits monthly reports to the Chief Executive Officer
including: Measurable goals achieved by the clients in percentages;
Need of staff to achieve desired goals; Status of the program in
general 6) Must keep an ongoing log documenting her/his supervision
of each Behavioral Health Counselor. The log must contain at a
minimum the amount of supervision and the length of time that the
supervision took place with the specific behavioral health
counselor’s name and the specific target population she/he serves.
7) Collaborates with Quality Assurance to evaluate the delivery of
services and to implement processes, procedures and standards. This
includes assessing the Psychosocial Department’s evidence-based
practice to evaluate its effectiveness. 8) Shall report client’s
illnesses and significant physical dysfunctions in a timely manner
to the client’s physician and note such in the client’s record. 9)
Coordinate activities for Mental Health Awareness Week and the
annual Mental Health Awareness Fair. 10) Participates in
Passageway’s Trauma Informed Care, Integrated Healthcare and
Cultural and Linguistic Competency initiatives as required. This
may include, but is not limited to, participation in trainings,
surveys, data recording and gathering as needed, and implementation
of new therapeutic approaches if appropriate.” 11) Responsibilities
include but are not limited to those stated above.
